Our in-class assignment showed me the difficulties of doing assignments online, and how in-person learning is still valuable in so many ways. This post shows how I think that even though online learning will be integrated into our current way of learning, the old fashioned way of coming into the classroom is still needed.
When first given this assignment, I thought that everything would be running smoothly and there wouldn’t be much of a problem. We used a website called Kumospace, a place where there is a function called proximity chat. Little did I know that I would spend 20 minutes trying to get my partner access to the google doc. While this was happening I experienced many times where my wifi disconnected, forcing me to relog into the website.
With this problem I had to get out of the website by going into Google Hangouts. The trouble was that my partner and I had issues trying to exchange emails to create a private chat.
It was a lot harder than anticipated, however, we pulled through after 20 or more minutes of torture.
This in-class assignment made me appreciate the usage of in-person classes. It’s much easier to communicate, while also being productive. Being online was so much more difficult as we had trouble communicating and doing work.
It’s always a good idea to get things done as quickly and efficiently as possible. If you can’t however, just stay calm and find a solution with your partner. If you can, things will be a lot easier.
